Quick answer
Singapore passport
Not required at any entry point, including the Woodlands and Tuas crossings.
Enrolling for e-gates
Submit the MDAC three days before arrival if you want to enrol your fingerprints for Malaysia's e-gates.
Other passports
Malaysia requires foreign nationals to complete it before arrival. Singapore PR or pass status alone doesn't exempt you.
How to submit the MDAC
Use the official Immigration Department of Malaysia site, imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac, and check the submission window for your passport there. Avoid third-party sites that offer to submit it for you.
Other entry checks for Singaporeans
- No visa is needed for stays of up to 30 days.
- Your passport must be valid for more than 6 months when you enter Malaysia.
- At a manned counter, make sure your passport is stamped each time. E-gate users are not stamped.
- Malaysia's MyNIISe app offers QR code clearance at selected checkpoints, rolling out in phases from 31 March 2026. Carry your physical passport anyway.
Driving across?
Singapore-registered cars also need a Malaysian Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP). Before you leave, check Woodlands and Tuas checkpoint traffic.
